At noon, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri hosted a State Banquet in honour of Her Excellency Datin Laila Utama Doctor Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, President of the Republic of Kosovo and Mr. Prindon Sadriu, First Gentleman who are in the country for a State Visit.
The State Banquet began with the recitation of Doa Selamat by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.
His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah says that this State Visit marks an important milestone that reflects the strong relationship between both countries. His Majesty in the titah says, the awarding of the 'Order of Independence' symbolises the friendship between both countries.
The President of the Republic of Kosovo in her speech said that this state visit was a great honour as the first leader of Kosovo to visit Brunei Darussalam. Her Excellency also appreciated the friendship that has developed between both countries.
Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Kosovo established diplomatic relations on the 20th of February 2017. His Majesty and Her Excellency the President of the Republic of Kosovo first met during a Bilateral Meeting held on the side-lines of the Summit of the Future on 23rd September 2024 in New York, United States of America.
